For agency and studio owners
Get more agency referrals from the network you already built.
Referrals built your agency, but you have probably asked a fraction of the people who could send work. Upload your LinkedIn export, describe your clients and the partners who serve them, and find who is worth asking.

Agency referrals mostly come from three places: past clients, colleagues of those clients who have moved to new companies, and firms that serve the same clients without competing. Get more of them by listing those people from your network, ranking them by how closely they match your ideal client, and asking the strongest for one specific introduction.
Step by step
How to do it, whether or not you use Rolomine.
Client size, industry and the problem you solve, then the kinds of firm that serve those clients without doing your work: consultancies, freelancers, adjacent agencies and software vendors.
The file includes everyone you have worked with, including people from past projects who have changed company since.
Someone who hired you and then changed jobs is the warmest lead an agency has. Their new employer is unlikely to know you yet.
Rolomine reads every connection against your partner description and ranks the firms that serve your clients without competing for the same budget.
"Do you know anyone at a mid-size ecommerce brand struggling with checkout?" works far better than "let me know if you hear of anything".
Where agency referrals actually come from
Most agencies wait for referrals to arrive. The ones that grow steadily go looking for them, because the people able to refer are already known: clients from past projects, the colleagues of those clients, and other firms working with the same kind of company.
Past clients who change jobs are the most overlooked. They already trust your work, they now sit inside a company that has never heard of you, and they are often in a position to bring their own suppliers with them.
A discount for referrals rewards people for something they would do anyway. A partner firm that serves your clients sees the need before anyone goes looking, which is when an introduction is worth the most.
Mistakes that keep referrals rare
- Asking everyone vaguely. "Let us know if you hear of anyone" is easy to agree to and easy to forget. A specific ask gets a specific name.
- Only asking current clients. Current clients tend to refer when a project ends. Past clients and partners can refer at any time.
- Choosing partners by friendship. A friendly agency that competes for the same budget will never refer you. Look for firms that serve the same client with different work.
What Rolomine does, and what it can't see
Rolomine reads your LinkedIn connections export, identifies each employer's size and industry, and ranks every connection against your descriptions. One scan can hold both a client goal and a partner goal, so the same file gives you clients to approach and partners to ask.
It works from job title, employer and connection date, never logs in to LinkedIn, and never contacts anyone. Who you ask, and how, stays with you.
What you would type, and what comes back
Four questions, then one of these for every strong match.

Questions
What people ask about this.
How do agencies get more referrals?
By asking specific people for specific introductions: past clients, their colleagues who have moved company, and firms serving the same clients without competing. Referral programmes help less than knowing exactly who to ask.
Who makes a good referral partner for an agency?
A business that serves the same clients with different work, so a referral costs it nothing. Consultancies, freelancers, adjacent agencies and software vendors are common examples.
How do I find past clients who changed jobs?
Your LinkedIn connections export lists each person's current employer. Compare it with the people you worked with, or let Rolomine rank everyone against your ideal client so the moves show up on their own.
Can I look for clients and partners at the same time?
Yes. A scan can hold up to three goals, so you can describe your clients and your ideal partners together and get a verdict for each.
